7 Differences between toxic and healthy feminism.
Feminism is a movement that is often misunderstood, mocked, and belittled despite the fact that it has greatly improved women’s lives and has provided freedom and rights for women in the west. Both men and women alike sneer at feminism and regard it as toxic. Feminism as a whole is not toxic, but like with any movement, even movements with the best intentions, there are those who distort what the movement stands for and use it to promote their agendas.
Just because there are bad feminists, it doesn’t mean that all feminists think the same way or consider these toxic beliefs to be true feminism. As a feminist, I feel shame when so-called feminists give feminism a bad name. This article highlights the key differences between what is healthy feminism (HF) and toxic feminism (TF).
1. TF promotes misandry.
Real feminism is not about hating men. Real feminism is about wanting equality for both men and women. These toxic feminists hate men and feel bitterness towards them. They believe that all women are wonderful and can do no wrong, but that men are the scum of the earth. That all men are disgusting and vile creatures. They want nothing to do with men.
