8 Common excuses for cheating and why they’re never valid.

Cheating is one of the most frequent and common forms of betrayal in relationships and marriages. Cheating is so hurtful because it’s such an intimate act that carries so many connotations and implications. In a monogamous relationship, intimacy is such a sacred act. Monogamy is the ultimate form of commitment and bonding.

Cheating shatters that bond. It’s an open display of disregard for personal boundaries and blatant disrespect for the partner. Cheating is also an unspoken sign that the partner is not worthy or enough. Cheaters place their own needs above their partner’s and have no regard for their feelings. There’s never an excuse for cheating. Cheaters will try to gaslight their partner into forgiving their behaviour with pathetic excuses that often passively place blame on the partner.

Below are common excuses that cheaters make for cheating. I will also explain why these excuses are never valid.
