12 Things guys say and what they really mean.

Navigating the dating world can be extremely difficult. People don’t always say what they mean which creates even more hurt and confusion. I’m happily taken now, but I have plenty of experience in decoding guys especially assholes. Unfortunately before I met my boyfriend, I dated a lot of crappy guys. Most assholes are pretty similar and simple to figure out once you learn their language.

I’m also aware that women can say some of the same things as men and mean something completely different so it’s not just exclusive to men. However, as a heterosexual woman I can only go from my experience.

Here are some common phrases that assholes and players use.

1. “You’re a really nice girl BUT…(followed by rejection)”

What they really mean: “You’re not special or interesting enough for me to want you.”

They say nice guys finish last, well so do nice women. I hate the word “nice.” It’s actually kind of an insult. The word has little substance to it. If someone thinks you’re nice, they think there’s nothing really special about you. They don’t have any particularly negative feelings about you per say but they see you as the kind of person that others overlook and maybe take advantage of. Well they took advantage of you.
